Josiah is doing pretty well, he has not been vomiting but he has not gained any weight either. He looks terrible.
The hospital has no beds for him so we continue to manage him at home, but his labs showed that he has an infection. We do not know what the infection is but rather than searching his little body for it the doctors made the decision to put him on IV antibiotics, which means I'm giving him an IV at home.
He has been on an incredibly expensive Lactose free formula, though Lactose doesn't seem to be his problem. A recommendation has been made to switch him to a hypo-allergenic formula. Because he is so tiny, and we need him to eat, I'm willing to do anything. As you can imagine, that is difficult to find here. Please pray that we can find something to feed him!!
We need volunteers! We have kids getting ready to go to surgery, and during the month of Chinese New Year, February, we will be short staffed. We need people who can care for children, even alone. We are looking for short term or long term (more than 1 week) volunteers.
If you are interested, please email me at Lynsay AT morningstarproject.org and I will send an application.
