Volunteers began arriving at the end of January, and staff began leaving just days after, and so began the chaos that is Chinese New Year!
The volunteers worked around the clock, most nights without sleep, and I am happy to report that they all, and all the kids, survived! Thank you Lisa, Joy, Juliet, Maureen, Kim, Angie, Elizabeth, Jean, Dawn and Terry!!!
This week several of the kids came down with a fever, by the next day all of the kids had high fevers and were beginning to cough. Initially it seemed like a cold, but the symptoms worsened as the days went on and the fevers didn't stop. Slowly, almost in denial, we realized that the kids had the flu....what strain I do not know, but there have been some ugly ones going around the city.
Yesterday was by far the worst day as far as danger, Luke, Adam and Corrie have had the worst time with their lungs, but that was to be expected. Yesterday we confined all the kids to their rooms and turned the house into a hospital, Luke was on continuous oxygen as his lungs could not get enough just on room air.
I am so thankful that we have 2 nurses here this week that have been able to monitor the kids and their meds and although I am monitoring the situation I have been able to leave much of the work, and the nights, to them.
Last night we sat and prayed for the kids and with confidence we all felt that today we would see healing, and I'm so happy to report that this morning they are all much improved.
The ones I am most concerned about right now are Luke, Adam and Hope. Please be praying for them!
In other news we are still praying about a second home, one has been offered to us and we will pray about it but we do expect to move about 6 more kids in there soon.
Thank you for all of you who have helped and are praying for a car for us. Long story short the law changed the same day that God provided all the money we needed for the car. A couple weeks ago we found out that they were changing the law, but as yet that has not happened. We are still praying but we expect we will be able to buy a car in the next few weeks!
In Morning Star News- Bill is leaving for Uganda again next week. We are so excited about what is happening there and this time 2 men who are prayer partners and involved in our ministry board will be joining him. We are looking forward to what God has in store for MS there and will can't wait to share the details as we know them!
Thank you for being so patient with us! Please be praying for all the changes we are expecting this year as MS grows and as we watch God work!
God Bless you!
